On Sunday, Light Lamps, Candles for 9 Minutes From 9 PM: Narendra Modi- Prime Minister

Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the public and called people to show democracy in fighting COVID-19. In the period of lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking care of people’s emotions as we need to compete with corona staying at home only. PM addressed people and said that our collective will could help us to defeat the coronavirus.

Narendra Modi requested people to light candles, diyas, lamps or mobile torch to show the gratitude towards the society helpers including doctors, nurses, police and other helpers. On April 5th, from 9 PM, for 9 minutes, all are requested to light up candles, diyas, lamps or mobile torch on their house balconies or to demonstrate the collective will to defeat the darkness of coronavirus with the light of unity and passion.

PM noted, “There is no bigger force than our conviction and resolve. There is nothing we cannot achieve with these forces,” in addressing the nation. He termed “darkness that engulfs us” and also it indicates that the country can come out from the coronavirus pandemics only with the support and co-operation of people.

“We have to take our poor brethren towards the light and certainty. To defeat this darkness, we have to shine the light in every direction,” he said. Also, Modi has put the topic of economics and poor people issues in the first place in his speech.

Furthermore, Modi said that the period of quarantine might full of anxiety and loneliness. Still, he said, “we, none of us, are alone” and that the “collective will of 1.3 billion people of India was with us in this time of crisis.”

Narendra Modi also requested people not to cross or break any rules of lockdown. “Either stay at your doors, on your balcony etc., but please do not cross the ‘Laxman Rekha’ of your home,” he said. “Social distancing is the only Ram Baan [weapon] we have to combat coronavirus,” he pointed out.
